[CP Journey] Halloween Party 2023 Complete Guide

    Hey everyone!

First and foremost, I would like to extend an apology to everyone for the rather late post. Our army has been busy with MANY activities and we wanted to wait until at least Halloween to pass by before we published this walkthrough! That being said, this post will provide a COMPLETE guide to the Halloween Party on Club Penguin Journey! Read on for the complete guide!

=========================================================================

First and foremost, this is one of the best parties I have ever played on any CPPS. If you were not aware, this party was not released until the 27th of October, which is rather late for a holiday-themed party on Club Penguin! However, as you will learn through this post, this party was HEAVILY customized. The originality in this party is certainly the best thing to come of this party, as there are multiple objectives to complete!

ROOMS

Upon entry into the game, you will be welcomed by Gary and a nicely customized welcome room (which is the central hub of CP Journey if you are not aware.)

Here, you are introduced to the primary objectives: gathering candies and finding special candies as apart of a candy hunt, more on these later. Taking a closer look, you will notice a new chatbar theme, one that is very spooky looking and gray! This is something unheard of from the original Club Penguin, so it's quite nice to see it here! In the top corner you will have the trick-or-treat pumpkin (for the candy hunt) and the candy counter/shop (for the candy collection)!

Instead of showing you every single customized room, I will run through the most important ones and mention some cool extra details!

I thought it would be interesting to cover this room. This is the tour guide room, and in addition to it being depressing, it is also decorated!

The town appears to be invaded by tentacle-like creatures and something resembling a dinosaur! The ground is all cracked up, and liquid is soaring through the cracks, which appears to create some form of ocean beneath the cracked surface...

The coffee shop is playing the original Night of the Living Sled, which was a mini-movie created in the original Club Penguin for the 2007 Halloween Party, as a subtle parody of Night of the Living Dead. The feedback was so strong, that the developers of Club Penguin made two sequels!

The Dance Club has historically been one of the main parties to be decorated in the game. Here, you can dance on a orange coloured dance floor and listen to the classic song "Haunted Disco"!

If you enter the upstairs of the Night Club, you can sit down and enjoy Night of the Living Sled 2: Practically Remastered, the infamous sequel to the original!

The Docks received a HUGE custom design. This room, along with the Mansion, Iceberg, and Pizza Parlor, are the main rooms for the candy collection in this game, more on that later! The Docks, similar to the Town, are invaded by the tentacles yet again. The Docks also appears to be a pumpkin patch, housing some large jack-o-lanterns!

The Beach also received a major redesign, taking much of the redesign elements from the original Club Penguin!

Upon entering the Lighthouse, you will be welcomed by a movie theatre-esque arrangement. Sit back, grab some popcorn at concessions, and enjoy the movie!

There is not a whole lot redesigned here at the Ski Village, but the notable highlights are the costume show stage and the sign that advertises the Haunted Mansion, look below!

Later in the post, we will enter and cover the Haunted Mansion!

Who could forget the Plaza? The Plaza received a huge redesign as well, including a free item giveaway, a cauldron, and the inclusion of a new Pet Shop design, Night of the Living Sled: Live in the Theatre, and Frankie's Pizza Parlor!

Click on the labeled "free" item, and you will be rewarded with a Pumpkin Antennae!

Enter Frankie's Pizza, and you will see that it clearly is a reference to the Five Nights at Freddy's movie and video games! Take a closer look!

In addition, this room is one of the other rooms where you can collect candies, more on that later.

As I am sure you are aware, you can collect the Bat Pin at the cove! Nice!

At the Mineshaft, it appears Rory customized the Mineshaft to look like an old Gothic-styled house, and it looks quite nice!

Enter into the Mine, and you will be welcomed with more acidic-like green liquid...

Let us not forget the Iceberg, often considered the main room for collecting candies! It appears the Iceberg itself is gone, and now a flat pancake-like pumpkin resides in its place... I am sure there will be no tipping this thing!

HAUNTED MANSION

We saved the best for last, the Haunted Mansion! This room has been a staple of the Halloween Parties in Club Penguin, and it is great to see it back once again, in both CP Journey and CP Avalanche at the same time!

First, you want to enter the Forest. The Forest has received some redesigns as well, now looking like an extremely spooky wooded area, barren of any life. Enter the location marked as "Haunted House".

Here is the entryway to the Haunted House. You can either continue vertically to the Mine Shack or go where we are going, the Haunted House. Notice the outside design; it contains purple roofing and indigo-coloured wood, an interesting and spooky design.

Welcome to the Haunted House! Here, you can interact with numerous items, and watch how ghosts possess the items. The room contains two large staircases that lead to the same balcony top, where you can notice the numerous puffle statues, a portrait of a penguin, and a free item! It is also important to note that you can collect candies in this room as well!

As mentioned, the free item is at the top! What could it be?

The Pumpkin Head head item is given out here! You can wear this on your head and become one with the numerous jack-o-lanterns around!

This marks the conclusion of the main room redesigns at this party! There are other redesigns, of course, but these are the main highlights. You might be noticing that one very essential room is missing, well, we will get to that later.

CANDY COLLECTION

One of the main objectives of this party is collecting candies. As you are introduced to at the beginning, there is a candy store where you can purchase numerous items from collecting candies!

Here you are given a better detailed introduction to the candy collection objective. You are required to purchase the entire Ghoul Detector uniform and enter the Docks, Pizza Parlor, Haunted House, or Iceberg to collect candies. From there, you can dance to collect the candies! It is really similar to collecting coins in the Mine, you are advised to move positions and you will collect candies at a relatively random rate. More on this all later.

This is the first page of the store, containing some pretty simple items for purchase.

If you click in this area, you will be welcomed by a secret item...
The Vampire Fangs for only 250 candies! You can easily earn this in only a few minutes.

Page two; notable items being the Diamond Pickaxe, Jack-o-Lantern Puffle, and the Halloween Party Hat!

A closer look at the puffle, note how expensive he is!

The third and final section of the catalogue, which contains mostly animal themed clothing.

In order to get the Ghoul Detector clothing, you just have to enter the Gift Shop and purchase it in the tail-end of the catalogue, located in the "Penguins At Work" section.

As mentioned, you can enter any of the above rooms and dance, which will cause you to wave the detector around and collect candies! You can collect candies quite fast, but you are recommended to move around, it is not a requirement, but it will increase how many candies you collect. Again, it is quite similar to the Mine. However, you can AFK when collecting candies, so, if done right, you can collect thousands of candies overnight if you let your PC collect candies all night long!

CANDY HUNT

Another major objective of this party is the Candy Hunt. The Candy Hunt, rather than the candy gathering objective, is meant to collect specific candies, which will result in a prize at the end! Take note that I will be going out of order in this guide, because I initially messed up at the beginning (my bad :p), but just bear with me!

If you click on the trick-or-treat pumpkin in the top corner, you will arrive at this menu. This menu will show you how many candies you have. There are numerous little riddles to give you hints to the locations of the candies. I strongly encourage you to try and figure them out for yourself, but I will provide you with the answers here!

Enter the Plaza for the chocolate bar.

At the Ski Lodge, you can find the caramel apple.

Enter the Beacon for the lollipop.

Enter the Gift Shop for the taffy.

Hidden away in the Beach, you can find a "roll" type of candy!

At the Snow Forts, you can find the sugar cube!

Here at the Pizza Parlor, you can find the pumpkin candy!

Here at the Iceberg, you can find the hidden candy corn! Be careful, some people might be blocking the area, so it might be hard to collect (this is why it's last for me haha).

At the end you are rewarded with The Suspicious Outfit. This is clearly from Among Us, which is quite an... interesting item to bring into the game, to say the very least.

With that brings the conclusion of the Candy Hunt! The Candy Hunt was a little challenging for me, actually, since there were so many hidden items! After a while, though, you will get the hang of the riddles (assuming you followed them at least). The reward at the end was something quite interesting! But, without further ado, there is one final objective for the entire party.

YOU WILL NOT ESCAPE ME

The final objective for this party is a maze-like challenge. It is quite disturbing, actually, and appears to be the origin of the many tentacles. That being said, you might have been wondering - where is the Snow Forts? Well, my friend, the Snow Forts is one of the most important rooms in this entire party, and I saved it last to emphasize the final objective. Let's start.

Upon entering the Snow Forts, you will notice a few things. First, there is a sign that says "Keep Out". Well, that can't be a good sign. Upon further examination, you will notice something eerily familiar: it's the Box Dimension! You might think: there is something off about it though... Well, you are not wrong for thinking that... the Box Dimension is RED and it clearly says DON'T ENTER! Well, we are EGCP, we do what we want, even if it may look dumb, so let's enter, shall we?

Eek, this does not look too good. The tentacles are here again, some of which are protruding out of what appears to be a second entry. In the distance, you can see a robotic Gary the Gadget Guy with bright red eyes, beaming lasers off into the distance. Well, there is no going back now, let's enter the second entrance.

Here is the first room of this maze. There are numerous warning signs, and there is really only one way now: forward.

You: Hmm, this room is quite odd. There are multiple exits it seems, and some clown on the wall. If you take a close look, next to the animatronic penguin, there is a secret pin.

Here, you can collect the Frankie's Head Pin. By now, you should realize that Frankie is a parody of Freddy Fazbear.
By entering up here, you can enter the next correct room.

Will: In this room, there are several notable design features. An entrance boarded up, tentacles coming down stairs, and numerous words splattered on the wall... it is quite eerie, to say the least. By now, you should realize that there is a sequence to these rooms. This sequence will give you a hint on what room is the correct room. Be careful, as there are multiple exits, and they will often lead you into the wrong room. Here, the correct room to enter is the one that is boarded up with "X" shaped plywood.

Never: Hmm. You Will Never... This is quite an odd and disturbing sequence of words so far. What could this mean? Again, there are multiple phrases on the walls, such as "NOPE", "DOES THIS LOOK FAMILIAR TO YOU?", and my favorite "DON'T CRY". Anyways, enter the wall that is covered with x's to enter the next room.

Escape: Well, so far this sequence of words is terrifying. "You will never escape...", well, thanks for the confidence boost, whoever you are. I think there is a clear indication that whoever is doing this is currently going through a manic schizophrenic episode, as they drew some really creepy faces on the wall. This room is by far the most deceptive, with numerous arrows pointing to different exits, including holes in the ground. You would next expect the holes to be correct, but you would be wrong. Enter the hole closest to the end of the screen, and you will enter the final room. Be careful, since the hitbox is a little off, you will have to be precise.

Me: "You will never escape me". Well, my friend, you are quite wrong, as I escaped. At the end, you are awarded The Entity Costume. It is a recolored Fish Costume, and it looks quite nice. Grab that thing and celebrate!
Here is the room entirely by itself. It is asking if we are at the end... well we are!

Yep, I have contracted schizophrenia. Just kidding, you have reached the end of this journey, and are now in the boiler room. Here, you can zap yourself and turn yourself into a monster. If you look closely, you can see the exit is closed, but some of the red light is peaking out of the box dimension exit.

While I am sure I developed a form of bipolar psychosis from this maze, it was quite fun to figure out the right sequence! As I mentioned before, there is a lot of originality in this party, and this is one of the prime examples of that. Really nice job, CP Journey, even if you gave me nightmares!

------------------------------------

With all that being said, this was quite a fun party! There is so much to do, and that is pretty unheard of for a Halloween Party! I really appreciate the Club Penguin Journey team for thinking outside of the box (haha) with this one, this will be something we will remember for a while, and this truly made us think back to our childhood, as this party gives us hope that Club Penguin can be further innovated just like they used to back then... and I am all for it~!
